Laser Refractive Lens Exchange

In cases of really high (sometimes intermediate) myopia or hyperopia, or even in cases of crystal lens clouding, or in patients with presbyopia, this is the most suitable solution. With local anesthesia and completely pain free, using laser or ultrasounds, the organic crystal lens of the eye is extracted and replaced by an artificial one, measured and fitted according to the parameters of your eye, and your daily needs. Hospitalization in any clinic or hospital isn’t required and the recovery takes about 24 hours to be completed. With the extraction of the crystalline lens, and the replacement with a standard IOL (Intra Ocular Lens), the accommodation reflex of the eye to near distance objects is now lost. Also, standard IOLs cannot correct astigmatism, a refractory state that disfigures your vision.

MULTIFOCAL LENSES

Multifocal IOLs are a category of presbyopia-correcting IOLs that can decrease your need for reading glasses or computer glasses after cataract surgery. These premium lenses contain added magnification in different parts of the lens to expand the range of your vision so you can see objects clearly at all distances without glasses or contact lenses. The near-sighted correction is placed at the center of the lens and the far-sighted is gradually placed at the periphery. When the human eye is focused at a near distance object the pupil of the eye tends to contract and become smaller allowing the light to come through the center of the lens. Accordingly, when the eye is focused at a far placed object the pupil of the eye is slightly dilated, so the light can fully enter the eye. This natural mechanism allows the unique use of multifocal intraocular lenses.

TORIC MULTIFOCAL

This type of Premium IOLs is a fine combination between a multifocal and a toric lens. It can be used in cases where the patient has astigmatism, but also want to correct near and far distance vision. EXTENDED DEPTH OF FOCUS IOLs

This type of Premium IOLs is the latest improved invention in the multifocal IOLs filed. They are based on the philosophy of the graduating levels of focus of the multifocal lens, including new features the prevent minor optic errors that occur by the simultaneous image forming principle. When the eye is focused through one of the visuals zones of the multifocal lens, the others may create halos, or glares, due to the focal difference of each zone. The extended depth of focus lens produces a long and narrow focal segment in the image domain, that prevents halos and glares, and also increases contrast of the image, improving the quality of your vision.
